Design is to be printed out in separate parts in the corresponding colors to eliminate the need to paint. This also allows everyone to be able to print this design regardless of what printer you are using.
I am thrilled to be adding Dixy to the Kong family. With her pink shirt, hat, and blond hair, she looks fantastic next to either of the two DK characters. I love how she fits in! Why did I wait so long to get around to this design?? Haha

Creating her large hair swish, I couldn’t decide which angle I wanted it to point to, so I built into the design the ability to rotate her hair to different positions.
I created the Dixy Kong design to be slightly shorter than the original Diddy Kong. When fully assembled, she stands 128mm or 5 inches tall. Compared to Donkey Kong's original size, she is a bit shorter, but almost too big if compared to the size of the characters in the video game.
Instead of scaling all the way up to 200% like in the case of the Donkey Kong design I created, I went with a 152% scale that would put her more to the size comparison in the actual video Game. This larger scale put her right around 200mm or 8 inches tall. Witch looks perfect next to the 200% Donkey Kong.
Printing…
I was able to complete all the test prints without the need to add ers.
Like the other DK characters I created, I split the arms and legs of the design. This can eliminate the need for and increase the chances of a successful print. Unfortunately, it does add to the assembly time, and it can take a bit of skill to align the pieces correctly.
Splitting the arms and legs in half adds a seam to the assembled part. I highly recommend using a good build plate with excellent adhesion to decrease the appearance of the seam created. I have been using the BIQU CryoGrip style build plate and love it. Very similar to SliceWorx Build plate for bambu printers.
Assembly…
It should be fairly simple. Dry fit everything in place before adding glue.
I highly recommend PLA Gloop, if you can get your hands on it.

Starbond Adhesives make a good CA or superglue alternative at a lower price point. I recommend the Medium or Thick formula. If you're planning on using the thick formula, I would definitely pick up some Accelerator.
A couple of things to note.
Assemble the Head of the design first. Then, attach the A and B parts of each limb together and immediately add the hands and feet to help in the alignment process of each limb.
Add the legs to the lower body. The lower body should be stable enough for her pink shirt. Then, add her completed left arm, which is straight down, making a tripod of the completed assembly.
Add the completed head assembly to the tripod before adding her right arm, which is bent towards the back of her head.
Both bent arm pieces A and B, plus the hand that fits this arm, should be glued together in one piece. The hair swish pieces should be separated from the head and body assembly.
Attach the bent arm by adding glue to the appropriate hole in the pink shirt and the small flat in the back of the head created in the yellow hair piece. Then, press the bent arm in place, allowing the glue to make a bond in both these sections.
Once everything is set, add the completed hair to the hole in the hand and position it as you wish.
Suggested Filaments
I printed out my other DK characters in the pictures using Playmaker Earth Brown for the darker brown colors.
For Dixy Kong, I found the shade of Numakers Beige Brown to be a welcoming change in this character and recommend trying it out.
